Who we are
Kitchi is a platform that helps customers discover restaurants and make reservations. For the purposes of data protection laws, Kitchi is the “data controller” of your personal information processed via the Kitchi Customer app.
Scope
This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Kitchi Customer app, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you. It does not cover the Kitchi Administrators (restaurant) app, which has its own policy.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details (name, email, phone, password or social login identifier).
- Profile & preferences (language, favorites, notification settings).
- Reservation data (party size, date/time, notes, restaurant selection).
- Support communications (tickets, messages, attachments).
- Media you upload (optional photos when you add a profile picture).
Information collected automatically
- Device & app info (model, OS, app version, unique identifiers).
- Usage data (screens viewed, features used, timestamps, interaction events).
- Approximate or precise location when you enable location features (e.g., to discover nearby restaurants).
- Log & diagnostic data (crash reports, performance metrics).
Information from third parties
- Authentication providers (Apple, Google, Facebook) when you sign in with them.
- Maps & geocoding information via Google Maps services when you view or select locations.
- Push messaging tokens to deliver notifications to your device.
How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the app and reservation functionality.
- Authenticate users and secure accounts.
- Send transactional updates (e.g., reservation confirmations, reminders, status changes).
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- Personalize content and recommendations.
- Monitor and improve app performance, quality, and security.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce terms.
- With your consent, send non‑essential communications (e.g., promotions).
Legal bases
We process personal data where one or more of the following apply: (i) performance of a contract (providing the Kitchi service); (ii) legitimate interests (e.g., security, product improvement); (iii) consent (e.g., optional marketing, precise location for discovery); or (iv) compliance with legal obligations.
Device permissions & platform disclosures
Location (approximate or precise): used to show nearby restaurants and improve recommendations. Background location, where enabled by the user, is used only to support specific features like timely reservation reminders based on context. You can disable location at any time in your device settings.
Notifications: used for reservation confirmations, updates, and service announcements. You can manage these in app or OS settings.
Camera / Photos: optional, used if you upload a profile photo or share media within the app.
Storage: used to cache images and media for performance.
Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the service and fulfill the purposes described above, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When data is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or anonymize it.
Security
We employ technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring, and backups. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we continuously work to protect your information.
Your rights & choices
- Access, correct, or delete your information in the app or by contacting us.
- Change consent and notification preferences at any time.
- Disable location permissions in device settings.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, where applicable by law.
- Data portability, where applicable.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross‑border transfers.
Third‑party services we use
Kitchi uses third‑party services to provide core functionality:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Storage, Crashlytics, Analytics)
- Google Maps Platform (maps, places, geocoding)
- Apple / Google / Facebook Sign‑In (optional authentication)
These providers may collect device identifiers, usage, and diagnostic data subject to their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, technical, or business reasons. We will post the updated version here and adjust the “Last updated” date.

When contacting us, please include the email or phone associated with your Kitchi account.
Request account & data deletion
You can request deletion directly from the Kitchi app via Profile → Settings → Delete my account (if available) or by emailing privacy@kitchi.app with the subject “Account Deletion Request.” We will verify your identity and confirm once completed. Deleting your account is irreversible and permanently removes your reservations history and profile data, except where retention is required by law.
